Monroe County magistrates have approved on first reading an ordinance adopting the county’s 2013-14 budget.
The budget reflects almost $3.4 million in appropriations, including $1.3 million in the general fund, $1.5 million in the road fund, $560,000 in the jail fund and $50,000 in the Local Government Economic Authority fund.
Appropriations for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1, are up slightly compared to the 2012-13 fiscal year.
“It’s a little more simply due to the jail budget going up a little bit,” said judge-executive Tommy Willett. “That always increases some.”
