Glasgow Middle School and South Green Elementary were recently named as higher performing schools by the National Center for Educational Achievement.
NCEA, which is affiliated with the popular college readiness assessment ACT, identifies elementary, middle and high schools that outperformed their peers with similar student populations over a three-year period. NCEA uses school data and assessments from the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) and the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) state assessments to identify the higher performing schools. Based on this data compiled annually over a three-year period, the stand out achieving schools are identified.
Glasgow Middle School and South Green Elementary join a few other local schools that have earned the prestigious title including: Temple Hill Elementary of the Barren County School District, the Metcalfe County School District’s Sixth Grade Center and Gamaliel Elementary of the Monroe County School District.
