A former Glasgow Fire Department sergeant who was fired last summer is trying to get the charge against him for which he was terminated dismissed.
The law firm representing Roger Hampton filed the motion in Barren Circuit Court, claiming the charge for which he was fired and the one for which he was suspended are the same charge for the same violation, with only slightly different wording.
Hampton’s May 3, 2012, termination was challenged in an administrative hearing before the Glasgow City Council on June 18, 2012. At the end of a half-hour deliberation that capped off a five-hour closed hearing, during which seven witnesses were questioned, the council upheld the decision for ending his employment, according to a Daily Times report.
