Spoof of 1940s’ murder mysteries on stage

‘Musical Comedy’ offers elaborate set at Plaza

GLASGOW — Far Off Broadway Players will present John Bishop’s “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” this weekend at the Plaza Theatre.

“Basically, it’s a spoof of the old murder-mysteries from back in the ’40s,” said Bob Cetera, director. “They used to have these old movies where they were murder-mysteries, but they were also comedies.”

The play takes place in the library of an old mansion in up state New York, where a creative crew have come to sell a show to a producer.
