Reason for hope

Oldenkamp: Diagnosis is not the end of the world

GLASGOW — Three and a half years after her last treatment for breast cancer, Karalee Oldenkamp said so many treatment options exist, anyone recently diagnosed has plenty of reason for optimism.

“It is definitely not the end of the world; it doesn’t have to be,” she said.

She had become a mom less than a year before her diagnosis, so Oldenkamp had an extra reason to “fight like a girl,” as the breast cancer awareness slogan says.
