State tourist and convention commissions will have to adopt codes of ethics

GLASGOW — One thing local tourist and convention commissions will have to do soon is adopt a code of ethics, which is something that is being required by the state legislature’s recent adoption of House Bill 1.

The bill establishes a new chapter of the Kentucky Revised Statutes requiring special purpose government entities or SPGEs, to adopt ethics codes.

Tourism commissions are considered to be SPGEs as defined by the new law.
