8:55 MORNING UPDATE: Bridge demolition planned at Horse Cave exit of I-65

HORSE CAVE — Bridge demolition at exit 58 at Horse Cave in Hart County will create a detour Monday, Sept. 23., and Tuesday, Sept. 24. The bridge spans Interstate 65.

The KY 218 bridge demolition will begin in the southbound lanes Monday from midnight to 5 a.m. There will be a traffic officer onsite to detour motorists up the off ramp and back down the on ramps.

The KY 218 bridge demolition in the northbound lanes will take place Tuesday from midnight to 5 a.m. There will be a traffic officer onsite to detour motorists up the off ramp and back down the on ramp.

Motorists need to slow down when approaching this area and use caution. It is possible demolition could carry over to Wednesday and Thursday.
