GLASGOW — The Kentucky State Police responded to an injury wreck at the intersection of Veteran's Outer Loop and U.S. 68 that involved a state police officer.
Preliminary investigation showed that around 2:15 p.m. Monday, Officer Brandon Ford was traveling northbound on Veteran's Outer Loop in his state issued patrol car. As Ford entered the intersection at US 68, a 1991 Chevy S10 operated by Tony Blakey, 59, of Edmonton, also entered the intersection while traveling eastbound on US 68, stated a Kentucky State Police press release.
Ford's patrol car struck Blakey's truck causing moderate damage to both vehicles.
Ford was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where he was later treated and released with minor injuries. Blakey refused treatment at the scene, the press release stated.
Ford was on duty at the time of the wreck. The wreck is still under investigation, the press release stated.
