8:51 MORNING UPDATE: Russell Co. teen injured in wreck

RUSSELL SPRINGS —  

Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Likins is investigating a collision that occurred Wednesday at 4:15 p.m., three miles south of Russell Springs on Ky. 379. 

The collision occurred when a 2007 Chevy, operated by 16-year-old Emily York of Russell Springs was traveling south on Ky. 379.  York’s vehicle dropped off of the southbound side of the roadway, struck the embankment of the ditch line, which caused the vehicle to overturn before coming to final rest on a fence, stated a Kentucky State Police press release.

York was not belted at the time of the collision and was transported to the Russell County Hospital, the press release stated.
