One person died and three were injured in a three-vehicle wreck that occurred Monday afternoon in Adair County at the intersection of Ky. 61 and the Columbia bypass.
Glenda Downey, 44, of Jamestown, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adair County Coroner.
The injured, Ronald Gibson, 59, of Columbia, and Cynthia Harvey, 59, also of Columbia, were transported to Westlake Hospital where they were treated and released. A passenger in Downey's vehicle, Mary Huff, 79, of Russell Springs, was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital and was listed in stable condition Monday night, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.
The wreck occurred around 1:30 p.m. when Downey, who was traveling south on the Columbia bypass in a 1993 Oldsmobile, failed to stop at a red light, striking a 1995 Chevy operated by Gibson.
Gibson was traveling west on Burkesville Street; his vehicle then struck a 1996 Chevrolet traveling east on Burkesville Street operated by Harvey.
All vehicle drivers were wearing seat belts. Huff was also wearing a seat belt, the press release stated.
