12:43 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Grass fire along parkway contained quickly

GLASGOW — 12:37 p.m. update: The grass fire that Glasgow Fire Department responded to just before 6 p.m. was in the area of Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway behind the Barren County High school. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire before it was able to spread, according to Chief Tony Atwood in a press release. Firefighters were on the scene around 25 minutes and were assisted at the scene by the GPD for traffic control, he stated.



No significant injuries were reported in the wreck in the vicinity of 838 Roseville Road to which the Barren County Sheriff's Office, Haywood Volunteer Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe EMS responded at 3:36 p.m. Wednesday.

South Barren Volunteer Fire Department and Barren-Metcalfe EMS responded to a motor vehicle wreck in the vicinity of 6200 New Bowling Green Road at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

GFD and Barren-Metcalfe EMS responded to a motor vehicle wreck in the vicinity of Parkview Drive at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday.
