An exhibit featuring 23 quilts made by members of the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society is now on display at the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.
The quilts were all designed based on a challenge presented to the organization’s members by KHQS president Janie Williams, of Lexington, which was “It’s About Time.”
Williams gave members no directions other than to make a quilt based on the theme.
“That’s pretty much all we were given,” said Brenda Leftwich, of Barren County, who is a past president of the organization. “The quilt maker was given the opportunity to interpret that the way they wanted to do.”
The quilts had to measure 100 inches by 120 inches.
