CAVE CITY — Kentucky State Police arrested a Texas man at a Cave City motel on drug and other charges Saturday.
KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green received information about a possible drug transaction at the Econo Lodge and found the suspect in question outside Room 112, according to a press release.
Through the course of the investigation, approximately 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine were located on Francisco J. Patino, 49, of Crowley, Texas, according to the statement.
Upon further investigation, troopers found an additional large quantity of suspected methamphetamine concealed inside a 2009 BMW associated with Patino, and they also seized from the car a Remington 1100 automatic shotgun, according to the statement.
Patino was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, first offense; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; buying or possessing drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; and prescription controlled substance not in a proper container, first offense.
Patino was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center by Trooper Jonathan McChesney, who was assisted in the investigation by Troopers Joel Huff, Ronnie Reynolds and Jeremy Smith and the Cave City Police Department.
He remained lodged at the jail Sunday evening in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond.
