GPD ceremony remembers officers

GLASGOW — Sgt. Michael Burton stepped out of line with his fellow officers who flanked him carrying Commonwealth of Kentucky and U.S. flags.

He collected the wreath perched on a tripod near a podium where Glasgow Police Department Chief Guy Turcotte stood at the center of several of his top officers. Burton solemnly carried the wreath and tripod and set them near three memorial markers for members of the Glasgow Police Department who had died. He gently pulled forward the wind-tossed running ends of the ribbon on the wreath’s bow, placing them just so, and lowered his head for a prayer.
