A Poet’s Life

GLASGOW — Dr. Loretta Murrey, associate professor of English at Western Kentucky University, reads excerpts from her book, “A Guest on Earth: The Life and Poetry of Joy Bale Boone, Kentucky Poet Laurette 1997-1999” Tuesday afternoon at WKU’s Glasgow Regional Center along with Boone’s eldest child, Shelby Bale, and Boone’s granddaughter, Vanessa Vann Campbell. Afterwards, Murrey signed copies of her book. Above, standing behind Murrey, from left are Kelven Hawkins of Glasgow, Suzanne Britt, also of Glasgow, and Nicole Sinkel, a Dubre sophomore.
