CAVE CITY — Cave City has been awarded money from the state for repairs to Owens Street.
A $3,100 Municipal Road Aid Emergency request has been awarded to Cave City for the street to repair the grade and drainage near U.S. 31W. Drainage has been a major problem for this area, and the funding paid for a long-term solution, according to a press release from Kentucky Department of Transportation District 3.
“It's been a major drainage problem for years and years,” Cave City Mayor Dwayne Hatcher said. “It has had water standing and even going into people's yards. We are very happy to get a permanent repair to this problem. We have patched it for years and years and we are very thankful for all those involved with helping getting this project.”
