Man arrested after hit and run

GLASGOW — After being involved in two vehicle wrecks, a Glasgow man was arrested for multiple charges, according to a Glasgow Police Department release.

Individuals on scene at the West Main Street accident told Officer Justin Kirkpatrick that the suspect, Loren Scott Kirk, 41, did not stop after the collision, said the release.

The citation said officers had received a reckless driving complaint before the collision occurred.

Kirkpatrick, while driving west on West Main Street, saw a vehicle that matched Kirk’s vehicle description, according to the citation, and initiated a traffic stop.

GPD Captain Charlie Lowery discovered that Kirk’s 2002 Green Dodge Dakota was involved in another wreck as well.

There is a separate citation for the second wreck. It was not provided to the Daily Times by press time.

Kirk was arrested and charged with two counts of leaving scene of accident-failure to render aid or assistance, second-degree wanton endangerment, improper display of registration plates and license to be in possession.

Friday evening, Kirk remained lodged in the Barren County Detention Center, according to the jail website. The website said his bond amount is pending.
