Keep it cool for all pets during high temperatures

he temperature in a car on a warm summer day can climb dramatically in a matter of minutes, and leaving a pet in the car, even with the windows rolled down a couple of inches, can be detrimental to the pet’s health, if not fatal.

“Most folks seem to think leaving the window open a couple of inches will keep a car from getting too hot for their pet, but it isn’t enough,” said Margie Patton, president of the Barren River Animal Welfare Association. “When people shop or go to restaurants during the summer months, it is best to leave the pet at home where it is cool and safe.”
