Donations deadline approaches for Monroe County History Museum

GLASGOW — The deadline for donating items for future exhibits in the new Monroe County History Museum is quickly approaching.

Items dating prior to 1970 must be submitted no later than Aug. 1.

“We are specifically looking for items that help to tell the story of Monroe County,” said Susan Turner, who chairs the museum committee for the Monroe County Historical Society. “We are hoping for items relating to our early history of Monroe County, to Old Mulkey and our other historic churches, our military history, agriculture and the other characteristics which make our county unique.”

Not all items submitted will be considered for display and not all items accepted will be displayed at one time, she said.

The tentative opening date for the museum is Aug. 31.
