Charity event to raise funds for Kosair

CAVE CITY — Jerry and Freda Smith know all too well the good work Kosair Charities does for children.

The Glasgow couple’s 12-year-old granddaughter, Maralyn, battles hydrocephalus and juvenile arthritis.

That’s why the Smiths, along with several others, have worked all year long to put together the Reach Out for Kosair Kids, a benefit for the organization that provides financial support for clinical services, research, pediatric healthcare for children, as well as education and child advocacy.
