Godsey gives everything extra care on her farm

EDMONTON — Ida Godsey doesn’t let anything go to waste, and she doesn’t let any animal go unappreciated on her unusual Metcalfe County farm.

Visitors to Godsey Farm Produce and Eggs are greeted with a chorus of crowing, clucking, honking and quacking. Godsey has about 500 chickens, nearly 50 ducks and 50 geese and even some guineafowl. A collector of various breeds, Godsey has chickens of all colors and sizes, some with bare necks and others with feathers standing straight up from their heads. Each of them is known for something different, and Godsey knows their quirks.
