Teacher evaluations, dropout age among new state law changes

GLASGOW — New laws approved during the Kentucky General Assembly’s regular session will give more stringent guidelines on teacher evaluations and allow school districts the opportunity to increase the compulsory school age from 16 to 18 by the 2015-16 school year.

The laws are to take effect on Tuesday. Local Glasgow and Barren County school board members and administrators are currently making plans for the smooth adoption of the new laws.
