BC ethics commission dismisses Steward complaint

GLASGOW — It took only about five minutes of deliberation for the Barren County Ethics Commission to decide to dismiss the first complaint it has had to consider in at least 14 years.

Jailer Matt Mutter sent a complaint Sept. 5 to the five-member commission stating his concern that Magistrate Chris Steward attended a retirement dinner for a retiree of the Barren County Detention Center who has a lawsuit pending against the county because he felt it could cloud Steward’s judgment when making any decisions about the litigation.
