Glasgow council passes budget, 7 to 5


Glasgow City Council passed the second and final reading of an ordinance adopting a budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year in a 7-to-5 vote Monday with absolutely no new discussion on the topic.

During the first reading of the ordinance two weeks earlier, nearly every council member had something to say, with several expressing concern over the fact that anticipated general fund expenses were $1.21 million more than the expected revenue for that fund, which gets its income primarily from a 1.2 percent income withholding tax and a few fees,
