A preconstruction meeting is set to take place Wednesday for a $2.5 million sewer rehabilitation project in Edmonton.
During the meeting, contractors will meet with the city’s engineering firm to discuss various aspects of the project, including construction start date.
“What the city is doing is redoing some of our electric and wastewater lines going into the sewer plant,” said Mayor Howard Garrett.
In addition to the replacement of the electric and wastewater lines at the sewer plant, some old equipment will be changed out at the wastewater treatment plant for newer equipment so the city won’t use as much electricity at the sewer plant as it has in the past and will become more efficient.
“The biggest advantage is staying in compliance with the Kentucky Division of Water regulations,” Garrett said.
