GPD makes 2 felony arrests

GLASGOW — Glasgow Police Department made two felony arrests during the past week.

Christian Sanders, 24, of Glasgow, was arrested Thursday by GPD officer Terry Flatt and charged with fail to report change in order to receive benefits, according to the Barren County Detention Center website.

Sanders was released from the BCDC on a $5,000 unsecured bond, according to the jail website.

Tacey R. Newport, 25, of Glasgow, was arrested Monday by GPD Officer Steven Fields and charged with second-degree possession of controlled substance, drug unspecified; manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; unlawful possession of meth precursor, first offense; and drug paraphernalia, buy/possess, according to a GPD citation.

The citation stated that Fields witnessed Newport leave Walgreens with supposed Sudafed. The officer allegedly found Coleman fuel, needles and cold medicine in her 1991 Ford truck. The suspect allegedly admitted she was going to try to manufacture meth.

Friday evening, Newport remained lodged in the BCDC in lieu of a $10,000 bail credit with cash bond, according to the jail website.
