LEBANON — The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fire that occurred in the early evening hours Friday at 885 Penick Road in Marion County. The fire claimed the life of 55-year-old Gerald Mays Jr.

The preliminary investigation indicates the fire might have originated in the area of a wood stove. No one else was in the residence.
