9:38 a.m. MONDAY OBITUARY UPDATE: Dorothy Chapman — GLASGOW

GLASGOW — Dorothy Chapman

GLASGOW — Dorothy Genene Chapman, 50, Glasgow, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late William Carl Smith and Bessie Marie Settles.  She was a member of the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by four daughters: Ashley Emmitt (John), Amber Chapman (Elijah), Megan Chapman (Kenny) and Jennie Lyn Chapman; grandchildren: Brayden Emmitt, Paxton Emmitt, Brantley Glass and Brenlyn Glass; her grand dogs: Bama and Tucker Lane; her companion: Leonard Ballard; six brothers: Jimmy Smith, Ronnie Smith (Shelia), Roger Smith (Mary), Victor Smith, Donnie Smith and Freddie Smith; one sisters: Connie Parrett (Glen); half-sister: Wilma Harrison (Bobby); Caregivers: Thelma Kay Chapman and Bobby Close; two special friends: William Ballard and Kathy Walker.

 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Chapman; one daughter: Pamela Smith; one brother: Richard Smith; one sister: Bonnie Smith.

 

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Tracy Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Special thanks to T. J. Hospice
