Midway reunion in the works

GLASGOW — Five weeks ago Mike Wilson chatted with a few people about Midway Island on Facebook.

Wilson, who is originally from Pulaski County but now lives in Glasgow, served on Midway Island in 1972 and 1973 after Vietnam.

“Of all the duty stations I was at, it was the best,” he said. “It had the best climate. It was small. Even though there were dependents there, it was more or less a very large family instead of being more like a military base.”
