11:36 MORNING UPDATE: Springfield man receives minor injuries in crash

LIBERTY — Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Likins is investigating a collision that occurred about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Chelf Ridge Road in Casey County.

William Taylor, 32, of Springfield, was driving west in a 1989 International tractor-trailer. The truck's brakes failed as Taylor topped a hill and couldn't negotiate a curve. The truck left the road, struck a tree and overturned in a creek bed, according to a state police news release.

Taylor was taken by a private vehicle to Springview Hospital in Lebanon, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release.

Likins was assisted at the scene by KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Brush Creek Fire Department, Casey County EMS and Casey County Emergency Management.
