Edelen releases audits of former sheriff's accounts

GLASGOW — State Auditor Adam Edelen released audits Thursday of two Barren County Sheriff's Office accounts under former sheriff Chris Eaton — the 2012 tax settlement and the 2013 financial statement.

The audits found no instances of noncompliance in either account, nor did they reveal any "material weaknesses" in the control over or the reporting of the information, according to a news release from Edelen's office.

The 2013 financial statement covered the period from Jan. 1 to July 31, 2013, while the 2012 tax settlement covers the period from April 17 to July 31, 2013, according to the release.
