BCS enters into lease with T.J. Pavilion

GLASGOW — Barren County Board of Education approved a decision to enter into a 10-month lease for $300 a month with the T.J. Health Pavilion for preschool classroom space on Thursday.

The 35-square-foot classroom will allow space to house up to 15 preschoolers. In total, 183 new students enrolled in the Barren County School on open enrollment day this week, the highest number of summer enrollment in four years. Preschool enrollment was also at a record high of 63, in comparison to 38 last year, and the district will continue enrolling students throughout the summer. Director of Special Programs Cynthia York said the new classroom will help solve the issue of lack of classroom space at the elementary schools.
