4 p.m. AFTERNOON UPDATE: Tennessee man arrested for attempted rape

GLASGOW — On Wednesday, July 3, the Kentucky State Police received a disturbance call at the Love’s Truck Stop in Horse Cave in Hart County. Upon their arrival, KSP troopers located Theodore J. Rice, 34, of Cookeville Tenn., and discovered that he had assaulted and allegedly attempted to rape a 40-year-old female companion. He had chased her through the parking lot and into the business where she was able to reach help. Rice was apprehended and charged with attempted rape, assault, 4th degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and DUI. He was lodged in the Hart County Jail.

Trooper Daniel White is the investigating trooper in this case, and he was assisted on the scene by Troopers Jeremy Smith and Wesley Medley.
