Charges added for Eaton, Guffey

McCown removed from indicted list

GLASGOW — The number of deputies accused in a federal deprivation of rights case including Barren County Sheriff Chris Eaton has been reduced, but the charges have increased.

Deputy Bobby McCown was removed from the indictment that charged him, Eaton, Aaron Bennett, Adam Minor and Eric Guffey with 10 counts including deprivation of rights, witness tampering and making false statements to federal officials, in the Feb. 24, 2010, arrest of an individual identified at “B.R.S.” in the indictment.
