The trial date for a Metcalfe County homicide case was set for early next year during a pretrial conference Tuesday.
William D. Chesher, 62, of Louisville, is accused of fatally shooting Ronnie Hiser at Hiser’s home in the Wisdom community of Metcalfe County. Hiser was flown by helicopter to the University of Louisville Hospital, and he died in the early hours of the next morning, according to Kentucky State Police and other court records that weave a tale of someone who seemed to think he was rescuing a woman from a bad marriage.
Hiser’s wife Karen told an investigator that she had been communicating with “Bill” Chesher through Facebook “and that in recent weeks they had began having an affair,” according to a KSP search warrant affidavit.
