UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Ky. 90 W work in Cave City could take more than a year

GLASGOW — Work to widen a section of Ky. 90 west in Cave City to five lanes from the Interstate 65 interchange to the CSX railroad bridge is expected to take more than a year to complete, according to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials.

“The reason for the widening is to accommodate increased traffic,” said Greg Meredith, chief district engineer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 3 office in Bowling Green.

Meredith explained additional traffic flow is anticipated at that particular section of Ky. 90 West with the widening of the interstate to six lanes. The road will taper back to two lanes at the railroad bridge, he said.
