Temple Hill bomb threat case will go before grand jury

GLASGOW — A case involving a Glasgow woman accused of making a bomb threat at a Barren County elementary school will go before a grand jury for consideration.

Renee´ Farley, 38, who is accused of making a bomb threat on Temple Hill Elementary, appeared in Barren District Court on Monday for a preliminary hearing. She is facing charges of first-degree terroristic threatening and tampering with physical evidence.

Farley allegedly made a call to Paul’s Minute Market in the Temple Hill community on Jan. 30, stating there was a bomb at the school.

During the preliminary hearing, Ann Phelps, a detective with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, testified an employee at the convenience store assumed the threat was being made on Temple Hill Elementary and called the school to alert personnel.

“This phone call was [not in regards to any one] particular school,” Phelps said, adding the caller just said “at the school.”

She also testified that during the sheriff’s office’s investigation, information regarding the phone calls made to the store was obtained by subpoenaing records from South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative. Through the phone records, the sheriff’s office learned the calls allegedly came from a cell phone belonging to Farley.

Phelps further stated some of the calls on Farley’s phone had allegedly been deleted and that phone number had been blocked.
