Water Co. receives 5th award in a row

GLASGOW — Glasgow Water Company has received recognition for the fifth consecutive year for producing water in 2012 that consistently met or exceeded water treatment goals that are more stringent than the state and federal standards for clean, safe drinking water.

GWC was one of just more than a third of all public and private water treatment plants in Kentucky to meet the Area-Wide Optimization Program levels. Each one that did is classified as a Totally Optimized Plant for turbidity and microbial removal – meaning essentially that the water is even cleaner and safer than it has to be.
