Minor enters guilty plea on 1 charge

OWENSBORO — The guilty plea entered by Barren County Deputy Sheriff Adam Minor in Owensboro federal court Tuesday morning will not tell the whole story of his case or the cases of the other deputies and Sheriff Chris Eaton.

Minor pleaded guilty to making a false statement to federal investigators as part of their inquiry into a Feb. 2010 arrest by Minor, Eaton and deputies Aaron Bennett and Eric Guffey.

The felony charge, which holds a potential sentence of up to five years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $250,000, is one of two charges Minor faced in a superseding indictment filed in February 2012. He was arraigned with the sheriff and the other deputies in March in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky at Bowling Green.
