DTF arrests two on drug charges

GLASGOW — The Barren-Edmonson-Allen Drug Task Force arrested two individuals this week on drug trafficking charges.

On Wednesday at approximately 7:15 p.m., Sean Charles Hayes, 42, of Louisville, was arrested in the parking lot of Super 8 Motel in Cave City with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Barren County Sheriff’s Office; and Cave City Police Department, according to a DTF press release.

Hayes was charged with trafficking methamphetamine; 29 grams of crystal meth and $1,700 in cash were seized, according to the press release. He remained lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on Friday in lieu of a $25,000 bail credit with cash bond, according to the jail website, which also lists a charge of being a persistent felony offender.

On Tuesday, Dennis Decker, 30, of Glasgow was charged with possession of methamphetamine; 6 grams of crystal meth were seized from him, according to the DTF. The DTF was assisted by the BCSO during the arrest, which was made on U.S. 68-Ky. 80 west of Glasgow, the statement said.

Decker was released from the Barren County Detention Center on a $1,500 unsecured bond, according to the jail website.
