6:08 EVENING UPDATE: 2 arrested in Glasgow for unlawful transactions with minors

GLASGOW — Two Glasgow residents were arrested for unlawful transactions with minors at the end of last week.

Cassie M. Husted, 24, was arrested Friday on charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful transaction with a minor, second degree.

The Glasgow Police Department responded to a complaint Friday night that someone was in a Cleveland Manor residence after being banned from the property. When officers arrived at the residence, Husted answered the door and told the officers that the subject they were looking for was not there, according to a GPD report. Upon searching the home, the GPD found a marijuana blunt, a small baggie of marijuana and some seeds and stems. Two male juveniles were present as well. Husted stated that she bought the marijuana, and she was arrested and taken to the Barren County Detention Center. She was released Saturday morning on a $1,000 surety bond, according to the jail website.

John R. Butchino, 25, was pulled over for expired registration plates at 5 p.m. Saturday and was found to be under the influence of marijuana. Butchino told the Glasgow police officer that he did not have an operator's license and the vehicle he was driving had no insurance. A minor was present, there were beer cans in the truck and Butchino appeared nervous, according to a GPD report. Butchino consented to a field sobriety test. He had blood pooling underneath his eyelids consistent with the use of marijuana and could not steadily complete several steps of the sobriety tests, according to the report. Butchino told the police officer he had smoked a marijuana blunt earlier in the day with his 17-year-old cousin. The juvenile in the vehicle was intoxicated and had a beer in her purse.

Butchino was arrested on two charges of unlawful transaction with a minor, second and third degree, expired registration plate, no operator's license, failure of a non owner to maintain required insurance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, first offense, aggravated circumstance. Butchino was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
