GLASGOW — At approximately 9:40 a.m. Thursday, members of the Barren-Edmonson Drug Task Force, Kentucky Probation and Parole and the Barren County Sheriff's Office went to 1275 Old Edmonton Road on a drug complaint, according to a DTF press release.
While officers spoke with Jeff Perkins, 47, of Glasgow, they noticed a chemical odor coming from the residence and evacuated everyone, according to the press release.
After Perkins gave consent to search the residence, the agents discovered seven shake-and-bake methamphetamine labs and three HCL generators, according to the statement. Perkins was allegedly in the middle of a methamphetamine cook when the agents arrived; numerous chemicals and equipment used to manufacture meth were found inside the residence, the press release stated.
Perkins was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, first offense, and parole violation. A notice of meth contamination was placed on the residence, the press release stated.
He remained lodged at the Barren County Detention Center on Friday in lieu of a $25,000 bail credit with cash bond, according to the jail website.
