2:23 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Glasgow officials warn of phone scam

GLASGOW — The Glasgow mayor's office has learned that a phone scam may be under way in which someone is "masquerading," using a City of Glasgow phone number, according to a press release.

To clarify, no one from the City of Glasgow will ever call asking for any sort of payment over the phone and will not be calling for personal information over the phone, a press release states. The mayor has asked residents to share this information with friends and family.

Anyone receiving such a call is asked to notify City Hall at 651-5131 or the Glasgow Police Department at 651-5151.
