2:37 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

GLASGOW —

A Glasgow man was arrested on a drug charge after a traffic stop Sunday morning, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., Master Trooper Lonnie Hodges observed Nathan C Gonzalez, 22, traveling east on Ky. 90 approximately 5 miles west of Glasgow, operating an unregistered motor scooter, according to the press release.

Further investigation revealed that Gonzalez was operating the scooter with a DUI-suspended driver’s license, and 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine was concealed in the scooter, according to the statement.

The suspect was charged with possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense; driving on DUI-suspended license , first offense; failure to comply with helmet law (over 21 years of age); no motorcycle operator's license; failure to produce insurance card; and no registration plate/receipt.

Gonzalez was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. The investigation by Hodges continues.
