District plans upgrade of Barren County High School media center

GLASGOW — The summer and fall of 2014 will be a tight construction period for the Barren County School District if all goes according to plan.

Kyle Abney, with RBS Design Group, gave a presentation to school board members and district administrators Thursday night showing schematic designs and laying out a timeline for the renovation of Barren County High School’s media center.

Abney asked the board for approval of the schematics, which include a new centralized entry with set-back doors, the removal of a wall between the media center and computer room, closing off several of the current entry points into the space by converting doors into windows and taking out the existing ceiling and raising the height of a new one.
