Lyons diagnosed with cancer in June

GLASGOW — Joy Lyons couldn’t believe what she was hearing when doctors told her she had cancer.

She was diagnosed on June 13. Not only did she have cancer, she had stage four bone cancer.

“I was in the emergency room under heavy pain medication when I found out, and my immediate reaction was one of shock and I had a strong belief that I must be dreaming,” she said. “I was in complete denial and scared out of my wits.”
