Avery does a little bit of everything

State park projects supervisor has varied job

GLASGOW — There is no such thing as a typical day for Jamie Avery, and she likes it that way.

Avery is parks programs supervisor for Barren River Lake State Resort Park. What she does each day is contingent on the season.

She may lead a family visiting the state park on a hike in the spring, work with a wildlife biologist on a program regarding the migration of sandhill cranes in the winter or work with another agency in educating area students about the lake in the summer and the fall.
