Auction runs 2 more nights

The Cave City Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors spent Tuesday morning preparing for the first night of their annual radio/TV auction — a fundraiser for a variety of chamber of commerce sponsored events.

The board of directors volunteer their time to make the auction happen each year.

“There’s people working on it from all angles,” said Jeff Lawson, president of the board of directors.

Lawson was busily working on the chamber of commerce’s website Tuesday morning so a list of the items to be auctioned can be viewed via the Internet.

Earlier in the day, John Lewis, a board of directors member, worked on a PowerPoint presentation so those viewing the auction via television can tell what the most current bid is for the item, if it is going to be sold later, or if it has already been sold.

The chamber of commerce has used a PowerPoint presentation in conjunction with the auction in the past, but this year will be the first time the chamber of commerce has been able to tell viewers what the most current bid is and whether the item has been sold.
