12:13 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Threat to trooper leads to arrest

BOWLING GREEN — Kentucky State Police Post 3 troopers arrested Edward C. Riggs, 63, of Bonnieville on a terroristic threatening, third degree, warrant Thursday.

The warrant was issued based on a threat by Riggs not only to KSP Post 3 Sergeant Tim Adams, but the Hart County attorney’s office that he was going to shoot a Kentucky State Police trooper, according to a KSP press release.

Riggs was arrested without incident and lodged in the Hart County Jail.  Adams is leading the ongoing investigation, according to the KSP statement.
