9:29 MORNING UPDATE: Funeral arrangements made for two who died in wreck

GLASGOW — Funeral arrangements for two Barren County men who died from injuries sustained in a wreck Saturday have been made.

Aaron Jay McCoy, 19, of Glasgow, and Dustin Parrish, 22, also of Glasgow, both died when the vehicle they were in crashed a little before 1 a.m. Saturday on Bishop Road.

Graveside services for Parrish will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. Monday at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

Funeral services for McCoy will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The wreck occurred when Parrish, who was driving southbound on Bishop Road, lost control of the vehicle in a curve of the road. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times down an embankment, stated a report from the Barren County Sheriff's Office, which also indicated both Parrish and McCoy were ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene by Barren County Deputy Coroner J.D. Walden.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the wreck. Neither McCoy nor Parrish were wearing a seatbelt, the sheriff's office report stated.

Deputy Adam Bow along with Deputies David Houchens, Dean Crumbaugh and Rodney Sponhouse investigated the wreck scene. Also responding were firefighters with the South Barren Volunteer Fire Department and personnel with the Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service.
